Certified Reiki Courses with Emma
Reiki which is pronounced (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy’ and is a system of natural healing founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. There are many styles of Reiki and Emma is trained in the traditional system of Usui Reiki Ryoko and has been practicing this style for over 15 years. Reiki involves the Reiki Practioner placing their hands on and/or around your physical body whilst you remain fully clothed either sat or laying down. A reiki treatment is a pleasant and relaxing experience for the recipient and some sensations (such as: warmth, coolness. tingling etc) may or may not be felt during your treatment.
Reiki is taught in three (sometimes four) levels:
Reiki First Degree is known as Shoden (Level 1)
This certified course takes place over two days and you will be taught the history of Reiki and the hand placements for self-healing. Reiki Level 1 focuses on the physical body level.
Reiki Second Degree is known as Okuden (Level 2)
This certified course takes place over two days and you will be taught the Reiki symbols and how to apply them in everyday life. Reiki Level 2 focuses on the mental/emotional levels.
Reiki Master Degree is known as Shinpiden (Level 3)
This level is usually taught over one day with the emphasis on becoming a Reiki Master Practioner and/or Reiki Master Teacher for those who want to go on to teach Reiki themselves. All Master Reiki students are required to attend a further 4 days of training during a Reiki Level 1 and Reiki Level 2 Course. Reiki Level 3 focuses on self-mastery.
At all three levels, the Reiki Master Teacher performs an attunement ritual known as a ‘Reiju’ to those studying Reiki.
